Join Ananya Dance Theatre dance artists as they perform again In Response!
A series of artistic rejoinders to urgent issues in BIPOC, women, womxn, and femme communities.
Altars of Our Sacred Geometries explores the vibration, life-force, collaboration, and live public performance as we emerge from pandemic. Five 90-minute performances will feature dancers performing duets with live musicians. No performances will be the same, but all will connect vibrationally and resonate thematically.
Sound Artists: Maestro Douglas Ewart, Queen Drea, Michelle Kinney/ Joe Strachan
Witness on the sidewalk and through the windows at: Ananya Dance Theatre’s Shawngram Institute for Performance & Social Justice.
Altars of Our Sacred Geometries is supported, in part, by The MAP Fund and the National Endowment for the Arts. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Ananya Dance Theatre is a dance company BIPOC women and femmes whose work interweaves contemporary dance and social justice. In dancing stories where our lives and dreams occupy the center, we shift the landscape of mainstream culture, build understanding about arts and social justice, and empower artistic voices.
